Closed to 50 people gathered at this unusual but wonderful run site which is not far away from the congested town of KL . For the first time, Gasing is running here. As we arrived at 5. 15 pm, there were already closed to 15 cars being parked at the car park with amble spaces and proper car park.
On On called by GM at 6.pm , off we went along the tar road for 5 mins, as we came to the end of the road , the fun and challenges started with up hill slope of 20 deg. All the way up for at least next 10 mins of steep hill, came the first check. It was a forward check and fore runners broke it, paper was connected without much of the problems and all followed through. As the terrain got tougher and tougher , to our surprise as we pasted thru one of the most scenic view , cooling with a wonderful water fall where nothing but just noises of the fall. It was great , for most of us were interested in having a swim at the top of the fall rather than concentrating on our usual trail of hashing. All of us have forgotten that we have climbed more than 1000 ft above sea level without running out of breath. Of course, nobody has the bloody balls of taking short cut because they were no familiar with the terrain..
Half way up , came the 2nd check, again it was broken by the FRB. Paper was sufficient for the back runners to follow thru. Suddenly, all were lost at the top because paper was disconnected one way or another nowhere to be found and all gathered at one group. Was this the idea of the hare to do such a thing to make very sure that everyone united as a group to enjoy the view of the water fall by disconnecting the paper himself. We were not sure. God knows !What was really enjoying and fun was that we were not frustrated at all even without the presence of any paper along the trail because the waterfall was so impressive that it caught everyone’s attention without even thinking of the papers.
As we reached the top , came the 3rd check and was a back check instead. The FRB were caught moving forward looking all over for paper and nowhere to be found. Just within a couple of mins, papers were found by the back runners across the other side of the hill. It was home trail but instead of going home, never in the history of this chapter that most spend some time cooling off themselves at the waterfall rather than going home.
Lucky Cock , HiLo, BMM ,Yong and many more were enjoying themselves to an extend that they came out after dawn which was very unusual for runners like them . Because of the new run site, GM has completed the run but almost drop dead when he arrived at the beer wagon. All came out no later than 8. 30 pm not because they were slowed but simply they did spent sometime at the wonderful waterfall. Overall, it was a damn bloody good run , for once we had such an enjoyable and fun run . Hope to see more of this kind of run in the near future.
Circle :
Started at 9 pm with the most and famous of all putting Yak on iced for making some mistakes misprinted in the newsletter. He has promised to step down as an ON SEC but not as the most powerful person in the chapter. Subsequently for by the B. monkey who made some announcement for next week run in Tamil but translated in English by Wild boar. It was fun for all . Announcements for Batu Pahat’s run and journey to Tasmania were definitely on and all have decided that we will go in group for this chapter only. The whole idea is to promote unity amongst ourselves rather than just individualistic.
In absence of GB, Lord took over and couple of guys were iced for various offences incl Campari, Tan Sri , KGB ( Look alike) and Under power who forever short-cut in all his hashing career. A couple from UK as a new guest brought about by GM’s sleeping partner will asked to introduce themselves. Circle ended at 10. pm and food and plenty of beers were served at a nearby restaurant with 5 tables. Sufficient and sumptuous Steam boat were provided by the hare . Party ended at 11 30 pm and all got home safely. Once again , all members thank the hare for taking his time and efforts to make this a memorable and successful run.
