Oh dear! I was late for the run. How to scribe? Browsing for info among the members. To no avail, as all sort of stories from different groups who came out from everywhere.
Anyway it is Tuesday Gasing GH5 Run again. The weather was so damn damn hot that the hare decided to take us to a nice cool place in the city. Where else! The same old hideaway resort style at the Penchala Link with free parking, light amenities and dead end road location. Beautiful mountain range or rather antmole hill hike, no water facilities, however big water highway within jumping distance.
When On On was called, everyone start hiking as usual and up the hill and found the first check. After that the Frops (Front runners) did not connect paper or rather too busy trying to stay ahead of the rat or hash race? And that started everyone looking for paper or finding their own trail to continue or out or back or who knows where or who to follow? That’s the end of the sribe. Thank you and goodbye.!!!!
So you see, or rather saw what had happened to a well planned or properly recee run that could go to ruins. The great effort sometimes put in to set the run by the hares, was to give the members a worthwhile run and to enjoy the serenity and a good sweat, and perhaps talk about the run, during the sit down dining , relaxed, cooling atmosphere. Sometimes the hare could have felt bad (greyheart) to know his efforts was wasted because of some technicality? or (common mistakes whether carelessly or careless attitude maybe?) Hopefully, these mistakes will be lesser as we learn along the way.
Imagine! Just, “Imagine all those people……, waiting for the chance……. Or rather broken paper, signs (connection? Voice calls?. Sms calls? Video calls?) eh! oh!......”
(sounds familiar to me, this song by the great John Lennon of the Beatles mania)
This could be the situation, for some or perhaps many who could have been victims or the lucky ones (particularly the slow and heavy ones, like yours truly and perhaps other more feminine ones in a mixed run) always, if not forever and ever. (especially if they so wishes to complete the run at all times!!!). Situations like these could be disheartening if not discouraging for those who long to finish or complete the beautiful run. Help them,how?
Pause for a moment Frops, think of the slow ones; connect paper please;and shout till the next person nearest to you can follow your call and inturn will get the others to come. Frops ,the saviours, you could save the world!!! Or save a lot of other hashers who are still inside the deep jungle searching for papers if there is any around, still checking the 3rd of 4th check on highly biodegradeable 500g paper or standard 800 to 900g clear white 4” x 4”paper (especially during long runs in the dark and rainy nights). Not only will the Frops save the day; the hare; the run; the food; the search party; the agony of those who were still inside without water, food ,beer and dry clothings.
Least but not last, the hare should always appoint minimum 2 to 3 dedicated Sweepers for the run to prevent any untoward incident (when hasher encounter health problem, cramps or even emergency aid, a fall with a broken arm, leg or twisted foot or heart attack, a stroke) at any one time during the run. Lastly, a very Big Hand to those sweepers whenever help is needed. They are the unsung heroes or heroines who are experienced in all situations. With this Sweepers in mind, I wish to appoint : starting with the Highest Authority of our Great GH5 Hash Club Grandmaster, our esteem, Piss Stop;
GH5 founding member, Gold Finger and etc………… as the sweeper for my coming run dated 13 May Run No. 484. If the above sweepers could not make it on the mention run kindly reappoint another sweeper as replacement. Thank you Sweepers. Anyway Jungleman has offered to be full- time sweeper for any hash run as long as he is present during the run.
